Special Ed Teacher | New London, Connecticut

A rewarding opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support students in a Middle School Life Skills classroom. This full-time, contract position focuses on providing tailored educational experiences for students in grades 6 through 8 within a self-contained setting.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering individualized instruction aligned with Life Skills curriculum to promote student growth
• Writing, reviewing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to meet each student’s unique needs
• Collaborating with school staff and families to foster supportive learning environments
• Tracking student progress and adjusting instructional strategies accordingly
• Maintaining a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom atmosphere

Desired qualifications:

• Experience working with middle school students in a special education Life Skills classroom
• Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and families
• Patience, creativity, and dedication to supporting student success

Location: New London, CT
Assignment duration: Contract through the end of the current school year, starting as soon as possible
