This opportunity is a contract position, spanning August 2026 through June 2027, and requires individuals ready to make a meaningful difference in either a high school setting or potentially at the elementary/preschool level. Key Qualifications:
- Valid credentials as a Special Education Teacher
- Demonstrated experience in school environments
- Expertise in special education best practices and individualized educational program (IEP) development
- Strong organizational skills for case management and maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations
- Adaptability to adjust teaching strategies and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members
- Strong interpersonal communication abilities to foster trust and relationships with students, families, and staff
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and adapt lesson plans to meet students’ individualized education program (IEP) goals
- Act as case manager for assigned students, facilitating team meetings and maintaining thorough, timely documentation
- Collaborate with general education staff, aides, and related service providers
- Monitor students’ academic, behavioral, and social progress
- Communicate regularly with families and guardians regarding student achievements and areas of growth
- Support a positive, inclusive classroom environment
