A school district in New Milford, CT, is now looking to hire a Special Education Teacher for a current, full-time opening at the high school level for the 2026–2027 school year. The selected teacher will work alongside dedicated paraeducator support in the classroom to provide high-quality instruction and services to students with special needs. Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and support to high school students with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Collaborate with paraeducators, general education teachers, related service providers, and families to promote student success.
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized educational plans and classroom accommodations.
Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings and other required school-based activities.
Work collaboratively with classroom paraeducator support to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Experience:
Previous special education or school-based experience is preferred.
Education:
Valid and current Connecticut State Special Education Teaching Certificate required.
Degree from an accredited college or university required.
Employment Type: Full-time, Contract
Contract Dates: August 19, 2026 – June 4, 2027 (end date is tentative and subject to change due to weather or district calendar adjustments)
Work Hours: 7:25 AM – 2:40 PM, approximately 36 hours per week
Pay: 40+/hr

Compensation for this position ranges from $31.34 to $51.34. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
