Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

  • Valid Louisiana Special Education teaching certification required
  • Experience building and maintaining IEPs, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, and adapting instruction
  • Ability to work in a variety of settings: self-contained, inclusion, resource, and co-teaching classrooms
  • Knowledge of differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, proactive problem-solving skills, and openness to ongoing professional growth
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Positive, enthusiastic attitude and commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to student strengths and needs
  • Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities, monitoring progress and modifying instruction as needed
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support students in various learning environments
  • Utilize data-driven approaches to assess student progress and guide instructional decisions
  • Create a safe and supportive classroom culture that encourages academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
  • Maintain accurate records and complete all compliance documentation
