Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid Louisiana Special Education teaching certification required
- Experience building and maintaining IEPs, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, and adapting instruction
- Ability to work in a variety of settings: self-contained, inclusion, resource, and co-teaching classrooms
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs
- Demonstrated strong work ethic, proactive problem-solving skills, and openness to ongoing professional growth
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Positive, enthusiastic attitude and commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to student strengths and needs
- Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities, monitoring progress and modifying instruction as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support students in various learning environments
- Utilize data-driven approaches to assess student progress and guide instructional decisions
- Create a safe and supportive classroom culture that encourages academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
- Maintain accurate records and complete all compliance documentation
