Special Education Teacher in New Waverly, TX

Make a meaningful impact by providing personalized educational support to a 3rd grade Life Skills student in a homebound setting. This contract position requires a Special Education Teacher to deliver focused instructional and compensatory homebound services for a school district in the New Waverly, TX area. The assignment begins as soon as possible and extends through the end of the Extended School Year (with the possibility to continue for the full school term from August 12, 2026 to May 22, 2027). This onsite role is perfect for dedicated educators who excel at individualized instruction and are committed to student growth.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current Special Education Teacher certification, valid for Texas
• Experience working with homebound or Life Skills students is highly valued
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to unique learning needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Organized and self-motivated, with the ability to manage schedules independently
• Must be comfortable working onsite and providing services in a non-traditional setting

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 6 hours per week of homebound services (4 hours instructional, 2 hours compensatory)
• Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to suit the student’s individualized needs
• Track and document student progress and instructional outcomes
• Collaborate with families, caseworkers, and district staff as needed
• Maintain a positive and productive learning environment
