This position, situated near Newark, DE, focuses on delivering specialized instruction in English to both 8th and 12th grade students. You'll play a vital role in the academic journey of a caseload of 23 students, fostering growth and empowering learners with diverse needs.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid DE Special Education certification secured prior to the start of the school year
  • Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting
  • Proficiency with IEP documentation; experience with the Infinite IEP program highly preferred
  • Strong background in teaching or supporting English curriculum at the middle or high school level
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills—especially in co-taught environments
  • Strong organizational abilities to manage caseloads and multiple instructional settings

Your Responsibilities:

  • Teach English in two co-taught classes and two small group classes, adapting content for diverse learning needs
  • Manage a caseload of 23 students, overseeing IEPs and ensuring instructional accommodations are met
  • Utilize the Infinite IEP program for accurate, timely case management and documentation
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings, collaborating with general education staff, families, and support personnel
  • Make effective use of two daily prep periods for planning, communication, and documentation
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement and success
