Special Education Teacher in Newark, NJ

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for the full school year, working with K-3rd grade students in a school setting located in Newark, NJ. This contract role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting young learners with special needs in their academic and social development.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to the specific needs of K-3rd grade students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to ensure educational goals are met.
• Adapt classroom materials and teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
• Experience teaching special education students in early elementary grades (K-3).
• Strong understanding of special education laws, IEP development, and classroom management techniques.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Patience, empathy, and dedication to fostering student growth and independence.
