Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher
  • Experience teaching high school students (grades 9-12) preferred
  • Strong background in math or science instruction
  • Ability to develop and modify individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleagues
  • Capable of handling a varied caseload and adapting to diverse learning needs

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction in math or science to students with a range of learning needs
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for each student, ensuring legal compliance and measurable progress
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to maximize student integration and achievement
  • Utilize positive behavior supports and adaptive teaching materials
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports for each student
  • Engage regularly with families to foster support and communication
