Make a meaningful impact in the life of a young learner as a Special Education Teacher supporting a preschool-aged student in a long-term care facility. This contract role is ideal for an educator who is flexible, compassionate, and dedicated to providing specialized instruction that meets the unique needs of children with disabilities.

This position involves working approximately 10 hours each week, distributed over at least three days. Your expertise will support one student, ensuring they receive consistent, high-quality educational engagement tailored to their individualized goals and developmental needs.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children, ideally in special education settings
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with caregivers and multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated understanding of IEPs, adaptive curriculum, and progress monitoring for early learners
  • Compassion and patience for supporting students in medical or care facility environments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the student’s IEP goals and learning objectives
  • Assess and track student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed
  • Communicate regularly with facility staff and family members to foster a supportive learning environment
  • Implement individualized strategies to promote developmental growth, communication, and social-emotional skills
  • Maintain accurate records of instructional hours, activities, and student progress
