A full-time Special Education teaching opportunity is available in Newburgh, NY, serving preschool through grade 3 and ages 12-22. This contract position begins after background checks are completed, starting on June 26, 2026, with an additional six-week summer program option. The role offers a structured school day with two possible schedules: 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, totaling 35 hours per week.

The position involves managing specialized caseloads with small student groups—typically 6 to 8 students per classroom with one teacher and three supporting staff members. Students demonstrate diverse abilities, including verbal and non-verbal communication, and some exhibit behavioral challenges. The on-site team is trained to effectively support these needs, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Qualifications:

• NY State Special Education Teacher Certification for appropriate grade levels (K-5, 6-8, or 9-12)
• Master’s degree in Education or related field
• Experience working with students across multiple developmental stages
• Ability to support students with varying communication abilities and behaviors
• Strong collaboration skills to work with a team of staff and parents

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
