Grades 6 - 8 K-5 Special Education Teacher | Newburgh, New York

Empower students to achieve their potential in a collaborative and well-supported special education setting. This full-time contract opportunity places you at the heart of a dedicated team, working with small classrooms that foster connection and individual growth. Serve students ranging in age from preschool through grade 3, as well as those ages 12 to 22, each with unique abilities and learning needs. Start dates are flexible, beginning as soon as background checks are complete and extending through June 26, 2026—with the option to participate in a vibrant six-week summer program.

You’ll enjoy consistent weekday hours (choose between 8:00 am–3:30 pm or 8:30 am–4:00 pm) totaling 35 hours per week. Classrooms feature supportive ratios: one teacher to either 6 or 8 students, alongside three skilled staff members. Our team is well-trained to meet the needs of students with a variety of communication levels, including those who are verbal or non-verbal, as well as students requiring behavioral support.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid NY State Special Education Teacher Certification in the required grade levels
• Master’s Degree in Education
• Experience supporting students with diverse cognitive, behavioral, and communication needs
• Ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals and related service providers
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
