Special Education Teacher - Newman, Illinois

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Teacher supporting PreK students for the 2026–2027 academic year. In this part-time, contract position, you’ll work with a small caseload and deliver specialized instruction using both push-in and pull-out methods in a resource-rich environment. What We’re Looking For:

• Active Illinois LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist 1) license
• PreK Endorsement (required)
• Prior experience working in early childhood special education is a plus
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues and families
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to the unique needs of young children

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide targeted instruction to a caseload of approximately 8–10 PreK students in a resource setting
• Utilize both push-in and pull-out models to support learning and inclusion
• Create and manage IEPs, ensuring they are personalized and effective for each student
• Work closely with general education teachers and support staff to ensure cohesive service delivery
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and adhere to all state and district regulations
