Special Education Teacher - Newport, New Hampshire

Seeking a dedicated Special Education professional to support high school students in a contract role. Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education
• Prior experience as a Special Education teacher at the high school level
• Strong understanding of IEP development, modification, and implementation
• Ability to effectively communicate with students, families, and school staff
• Strong organizational skills and adaptability in dynamic classroom settings
• Commitment to supporting diverse learning needs and promoting student growth
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver differentiated instruction tailored to student IEPs
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to create inclusive classrooms
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student performance, goals, and progress
• Monitor, document, and report on student achievement and behavioral data
• Lead or participate in IEP meetings and help update education plans as needed
• Provide guidance and mentorship that empowers each student’s learning journey
• Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations regarding special education
