This full-time contract opportunity runs from August 2026 through June 2027 and offers an engaging experience working closely with students, teachers, and families to foster academic, social, and emotional growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Proven experience teaching or supporting students in a special education classroom, ideally at the high school level
- Deep knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Strong understanding of diverse learning needs and effective differentiation strategies
- Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and individualized support to students with a range of learning differences
- Develop, implement, and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with families and colleagues
- Track student progress, document outcomes, and adjust strategies as needed
- Collaborate with school staff to adapt curriculum and classroom environments for varied learning needs
- Participate in parent meetings, IEP reviews, and professional development as required
- Foster an inclusive, positive, and respectful classroom environment
