Special Education Teacher in Newton, NC

An inviting contract position is open for an educator specializing in general curriculum, working with elementary-aged students in a supportive school environment. This is a full-time role, Monday through Friday, from 8:30AM to 3:30PM, serving a caseload of 15-18 students with diverse learning needs.

The role involves a blend of inclusion and pull-out services, addressing all academic subjects in close collaboration with general education teachers and support staff. The position is ideal for flexible educators open to a dynamic schedule: the week may be divided between two nearby campuses (just 2.5 miles apart), with two days spent at one site and three days at the other. If splitting sites is not a preference, arrangements can be made to remain at a single campus.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Hold a valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Previous experience working within elementary settings, especially with varied service delivery models (inclusion and pull-out)
• Proficient in adapting curriculum to individual student needs and developing effective IEPs
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Commitment to fostering a positive, supportive learning environment for students with different abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction and interventions across all core subjects
