Special Education Teacher - Newton, North Carolina

This full-time contract position focuses on delivering specialized education services to a small group of 7-8 students in an elementary adaptive special education classroom. Qualifications & Experience:

• Active North Carolina Adaptive EC (Exceptional Children) licensure is essential
• Experience as a Special Education Teacher in elementary or adaptive settings highly preferred
• Strong knowledge of IEP development and adaptive teaching strategies
• Ability to differentiate instruction and integrate individualized supports
• Compassionate approach with excellent collaboration and communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and adaptive support to 7-8 elementary students with diverse needs
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and instructional plans tailored to individual student goals
• Work closely with two paraprofessionals, delegating tasks and collaborating for maximum student engagement
• Foster an inclusive, respectful, and supportive classroom atmosphere
• Conduct ongoing assessments, maintain thorough documentation, and participate in team meetings
• Communicate regularly with families, staff, and service providers to ensure continuity of care

This contract opportunity runs from the start date through May 26. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
