High School Special Education Teacher 

A supportive school district is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to work with high school students in a resource and co-teaching classroom setting. This full-time opportunity offers the chance to collaborate with general education staff while supporting students across core academic subjects, with a particular focus on Science and Mathematics. The district is actively reviewing applications and interviewing qualified candidates for immediate consideration. 

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and academic support to high school students with diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers in resource and co-teaching classroom environments.
• Develop, implement, and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation related to IEP goals and services.
• Support students in Science and Mathematics coursework through accommodations, modifications, and targeted interventions.
• Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and parent conferences.
• Collaborate with administrators, service providers, and families to promote student success.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic achievement and independence.

Experience:

• Previous experience working with secondary students in a special education setting preferred.
• Experience in resource or co-teaching models is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
• Background supporting students in Mathematics and/or Science preferred.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or a related field required.
• Valid Pennsylvania Special Education Endorsement required.
• Knowledge of state and federal special education regulations required.

Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract 

Work Hours: Monday–Friday, approximately 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM 

School Setting: High School Resource/Co-Teaching Classrooms 

Compensation: $38-$43 per hour
