Openings address a range of student needs, including:

  • “Core” team roles collaborating with fellow special education teachers for co-teaching/inclusion, direct academic instruction, and supplemental resource services
  • Academic Seminar/Resource teaching, focusing on academic enrichment and individualized support
  • Transition Teacher roles, coordinating job placements and community engagement while managing some IEPs
  • 5K Transition classroom for early learners, supporting 5K students with disabilities as they transition to inclusion settings with the help of two classroom assistants
  • Self-contained classroom leadership (grades 6-8) for students with moderate disabilities, working alongside dedicated instructional assistants

Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification required
  • Experience in co-teaching, resource settings, or self-contained classrooms preferred
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
  • Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
  • Creative approach to differentiated instruction and positive behavioral supports
  • Adaptable to varied academic and life skills needs across elementary and middle grades

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct, individualized, and small-group instruction tailored to IEP goals
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that foster growth and independence
  • Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
  • Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and progress monitoring
  • Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
  • Facilitate transition planning and community-based instruction where applicable
