You’ll lead a class of around 12 students, collaborating daily with a team of five dedicated paraprofessionals to create a vibrant, inclusive learning environment near Nogales, AZ.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience teaching special education at the elementary (K-5) level preferred
- Strong classroom management and organizational abilities
- Proficiency adapting curriculum and instruction for individual needs
- Effective communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Ability to work closely with paraprofessionals and support staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique strengths and challenges
- Provide direct instruction in core academic and functional areas
- Foster a classroom atmosphere that values diversity, cooperation, and respect
- Guide, mentor, and collaborate with a team of five paraprofessionals for maximum student support
- Progress monitor student achievement and modify instructional strategies as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate regularly with parents and educational teams
