This full-time, contract opportunity spans the 2026-2027 academic year, from August 13, 2026 through June 3, 2027. With a Monday through Friday schedule—7:15am to 3:15pm, totaling 37.5 hours per week—you’ll support and inspire learners with diverse needs in a dynamic school environment near Norlina, NC.

In this role, you’ll engage with a caseload of approximately 12 students in a mild to moderate self-contained setting, with opportunities to serve both middle and high school classrooms. Assignments include an intensive needs position at the middle school level, self-contained high school classrooms, an inclusion ELS caseload (with up to 40 students; background in English appreciated but not required!), and direct support for a group of grades 6–8 students at a nearby STEM school.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification
  • Prior experience with students who have a range of academic, behavioral, and learning challenges
  • Strong skills in collaboration and classroom management
  • Proficiency in IEP development and implementation
  • Comfortable adapting lessons for a variety of learning needs
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
