Special Education Teacher - Norristown, PA

Step into a rewarding role supporting young learners in grades 4 and 5 (ages 9 to 11) as a Special Education Teacher focusing on Emotional Support. This contract opportunity spans the full academic year, from August 17, 2026 (beginning with essential training), through June 12, 2027. You’ll work closely with a dedicated team to provide meaningful educational experiences and help shape positive outcomes for a manageable caseload of 12 students.

Key Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Special Education Teacher
• Experience or strong interest in working with elementary-aged students with Emotional Support needs
• Understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Compassionate, patient approach with excellent communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and support staff

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction, interventions, and behavioral support tailored to each student’s needs
• Manage classroom routines and foster a positive, inclusive environment
• Develop, revise, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in cooperation with multidisciplinary teams
• Track student growth and maintain documentation in accordance with district and state requirements
• Engage with families and caregivers to support student success
• Participate in training beginning August 17th to ensure readiness for the new school year
