Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-5 students as an Autism Specialist in a dynamic educational setting. This role is ideal for an experienced Special Education Teacher ready to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners through resource instruction, small group facilitation, and case management.
Your workday will run from 8:00 AM to 3:45 PM, Monday through Friday, aligning with the school year from August 17 to June 11. You'll collaborate within a supportive team to plan and deliver targeted instruction, using both push-in and pull-out models to meet the diverse needs of your students.
What you'll need to thrive in this role:
- At least one year of teaching experience specifically working with students on the autism spectrum
- Valid Instructional I or II Pennsylvania Certification in K-12 Special Education (emergency certifications unfortunately cannot be accepted at this time)
- Proven skill in managing IEPs, progress monitoring, and developing individualized group lesson plans
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with colleagues, families, and support staff
- A passion for fostering inclusion and growth in students with unique learning profiles
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee case management duties, including IEP writing, progress monitoring, and compliance with special education regulations
- Plan and implement engaging lessons for small groups in resource and inclusion settings
- Deliver instruction through both push-in (within the general education classroom) and pull-out (separate small group) models
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Collaborate with general education staff to support student success in all settings
Compensation for this position ranges from $40 to $50 per hour, reflecting your experience and expertise.
