Special Education Teacher in North Adams, MA

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available in North Adams, MA, focused on supporting students in substantially separate classrooms across early childhood and elementary grade levels. This role requires working onsite with a minimum caseload of students facing significant cognitive and physical disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction tailored to students in K-1st grade and 3rd-5th grade classrooms
• Support students with diverse needs, including those on the autism spectrum and non-verbal learners
• Assist with daily toileting and personal care as required
• Collaborate with Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) when assigned for behavioral support
• Employ specially designed instruction strategies and applied behavior analysis techniques to enhance learning outcomes

Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous experience working in special education classrooms, particularly with students who have severe disabilities
• Familiarity with applied behavior analysis (ABA) and specially designed instruction preferred
• Ability to manage a challenging caseload with strong organizational and communication skills
• Commitment to onsite work and direct student interaction
