Three unique settings are seeking full-time specialists:
- Elementary (K-5) Autism Class: Work closely with a small group of up to 6 students in a self-contained classroom. You’ll provide individualized instruction and interventions tailored for young learners with autism.
- Middle School (Grades 6-8) Therapeutic Classroom: Support up to 10 students navigating emotional and behavioral hurdles. Focus on trauma-informed practices in a structured environment, helping students build coping and academic skills.
- High School (Grades 9-12) Therapeutic Classroom: Guide up to 12 students, many with trauma backgrounds, as they work toward graduation and personal growth. Use your expertise to deliver customized supports in a safe, affirming space.
Preferred Background and Experience:
- Valid Special Education licensure for the state or eligibility to obtain.
- Prior teaching experience in special education settings, preferably with students with autism or trauma histories.
- Understanding of self-contained classroom best practices.
- Strong collaboration and communication abilities.
- Energetic, flexible, and compassionate approach.
- Dedication to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom climate.
