Special Education Teacher in North Charleston, SC

Exciting opportunity for an experienced Special Education Teacher to make a meaningful impact in a vibrant K-5 setting! This contract role is based in the greater North Charleston area, working with a resource caseload and utilizing EdPlan.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education
• Proven experience with K-5 students, preferably in a resource setting
• Proficient working with EdPlan for Individualized Education Program (IEP) management
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt instruction to meet varied student needs within an inclusive classroom environment
• Previous experience on a school-based multidisciplinary team is highly valued

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to K-5 students assigned to your caseload
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) with a focus on measurable progress and compliance
• Collaborate regularly with general education teachers, specialists, and families to promote student success
• Track and communicate student progress toward IEP goals and objectives
• Participate in IEP meetings, data review, and ongoing professional development
• Foster an inclusive, positive, and encouraging classroom climate
