Soliant is seeking a dedicated Middle School Special Education Teacher to support students in grades 6–8 with mild to moderate learning needs. This role involves providing direct instruction, collaborative inclusion support, and specialized interventions to help students access grade-level curriculum. The teacher will work closely with general education staff, related service providers, and families to ensure all students receive appropriate accommodations and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction in both inclusion and resource settings for students with mild to moderate disabilities.

  • Develop, implement, and progress-monitor IEP goals using data-driven instructional practices.

  • Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum, coordinate accommodations, and support successful inclusion.

  • Conduct small-group and individualized instruction focused on academic, behavioral, and executive functioning needs.

  • Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility reviews, and parent conferences.

  • Maintain compliant documentation, service logs, and progress reports.

  • Support classroom management, positive behavior strategies, and student engagement.

  • Communicate regularly with families and school staff to support student growth.

Requirements:

  • Active Connecticut Teaching Certification in Special Education for grades 6–8 (no provisional or temporary certifications accepted).

  • Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance.

  • Experience working with middle school students in inclusion/resource models preferred.

  • Knowledge of evidence-based instructional practices for mild to moderate disabilities.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
