Working within a supportive team, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing educational experiences for students with mild to moderate learning needs during the school day from 7:15 AM to 2:30 PM.
What you’ll bring:
- Active Connecticut Special Education Teacher Certification for Grades 9–12
- Previous classroom experience working with students having mild to moderate disabilities (preferred)
- Expertise in adapting instruction to meet a variety of learner needs
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work seamlessly with general education and support staff
- Ability to track progress, ensure compliance, and adjust interventions as necessary
- Commitment to upholding all state and district special education policies
- Please note: provisional licenses are not accepted
What you'll do:
- Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction aligned with students’ IEPs within inclusion and resource room settings
- Foster a positive and accommodating learning environment where all students can grow
- Partner with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and support student integration
- Track and report on student progress, making timely instructional adjustments as needed
- Ensure complete compliance with all relevant special education regulations and documentation protocols
