Certified Grades 9 - 12 Special Education Teacher | North Grosvenordale, Connecticut

Step into a dynamic high school environment as a Special Education Teacher, making a meaningful difference for students in grades 9–12. This contract role offers you an opportunity to work in a supportive setting with a mild to moderate student population, focusing on inclusion and resource-based instruction.

As part of a dedicated team, you’ll collaborate with general education teachers, manage IEPs, and help students succeed academically and personally. The daily schedule runs from 7:15 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday, allowing for both consistency and work-life balance.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
• Experience with students in grades 9–12
• Familiarity with inclusion and resource classroom models
• Strong IEP development, progress monitoring, and case management skills
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
• Ability to foster a positive and supportive classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and track IEPs for a caseload of mild to moderate high school students
• Deliver differentiated instruction in both inclusion and resource room settings
• Collaborate closely with general education staff to facilitate accommodations and modifications
• Utilize data to assess student progress and inform instructional decisions
• Maintain open communication with families and related service providers
• Support transitions and help students build self-advocacy and independence skills
