Several contract positions are available to teach at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, with caseload assignments based on your expertise and preference. Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification
  • Previous experience supporting students with autism, in either classroom or resource settings
  • Understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
  • Familiarity with evidence-based instructional strategies for learners with autism
  • Strong collaboration skills when working with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff
  • Ability to create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction across academic subjects to students on the autism spectrum
  • Adapt and modify curriculum to accommodate individual learning needs and IEP goals
  • Foster student independence and strong self-advocacy skills
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers, speech/language pathologists, related service providers, and families
  • Monitor, document, and report on student progress regularly
  • Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team conferences, and professional development
