Special Education Teacher in Northampton, MA

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid state certification in Special Education
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
• Experience working with individualized education programs (IEPs) and implementing accommodations
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working alongside families, therapists, and general education teachers
• Ability to adapt instruction for varying learning styles and behavioral needs
• Dedication to fostering a supportive classroom culture and promoting student independence

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans tailored to each student's needs
• Provide direct instruction in small group and one-on-one settings
• Modify curriculum and utilize diverse teaching strategies to ensure student success
• Regularly assess student progress and share updates with parents and multidisciplinary teams
• Collaborate with colleagues to support inclusion initiatives and maintain compliance with federal and state special education requirements
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow established protocols for reporting
