Special Education Teacher in Norwalk, CT

With case management support provided by district administration, you can devote your attention to quality instruction, student assessment, and individualized learning plans.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Connecticut Special Education Endorsement
• Demonstrated proficiency in crafting and implementing IEPs
• Minimum of two years of recent experience teaching special education
• Strong communication skills, especially for presenting at IEP meetings
• Ability to design differentiated lessons and assessments for diverse learners

Responsibilities include:

• Instructing elementary students in all core academic areas within a self-contained setting
• Writing, monitoring, and updating IEPs tailored to student needs
• Attending and presenting at IEP meetings as a valued educational team member
• Administering tests and tracking student progress toward annual goals
• Collaborating with support staff, therapists, and families to maximize student success
