Support students’ growth and success in a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Resource Teacher for 4th/5th or 7th/8th grade. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, working with small groups to provide both push-in and pull-out support. The assignment runs from August 25, 2026 (or as soon as possible) through June 7, 2027, offering a full-time schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:15 am–3:45 pm EST, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Compensation ranges from $40 to $55 per hour.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current Connecticut teaching license with either 165 or 265 Special Education Certification
  • Experience working with upper elementary or middle school students (grades 4–8)
  • Skilled in delivering instruction in resource classroom settings and adapting lessons for small group or individualized instruction
  • Strong collaborative approach, comfortable working with general education teachers and related service providers
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted instruction to students with diverse learning needs, primarily in pull-out small group settings
  • Offer push-in classroom support as required to help students access the general education curriculum
  • Assess student progress, document data, and participate in IEP meetings and goal development
  • Collaborate closely with school staff and parents to ensure educational plans are implemented effectively
  • Create a welcoming, supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement and confidence
