Special Education Teacher - Norwalk, CT

Position Overview:

• Full-time for the 2026/2027 academic year
• Contract duration: August 24, 2026 – June 24, 2027
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30 am – 2:40 pm
• Multiple positions: high school resource/co-teaching, middle school, and a leave coverage through December

Qualifications and Preferences:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience or strong interest in working with resource and co-teaching models
• Proven ability to collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers
• Strong classroom management and differentiated instruction skills
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities
• Passion for fostering inclusive and supportive classroom communities
• Prior experience in high school or middle school special education preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small group instruction to students with diverse learning needs
• Collaborate with general education staff to implement IEPs in resource and co-teaching settings
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
• Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and school teams regarding student development
• Adapt curriculum and learning strategies to ensure student success
• Support a positive and respectful classroom climate
