A rewarding opportunity is available for a compassionate educator skilled in Special Education, supporting middle school students in a Life Skills classroom. This contract position begins in October 2026 and runs through June 2027, offering you the chance to positively impact a small group of learners near the Norwalk, CT area.

With typical work hours from 7:20 AM to 3:20 PM, Monday through Friday, you’ll guide and instruct a caseload of six to eight students, focusing on foundational Math, Reading, Writing, and Modified Science. Your expertise will help students build critical skills for academic and daily success in a nurturing, structured environment. In addition to the intrinsic rewards, this role provides an hourly pay rate of $38–$43, reflecting your skills and dedication.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Connecticut Special Education teaching license, either K-12 or 7-12
  • Open to considering qualified DSAP-certified educators
  • Experience or strong interest in working with middle school students requiring individualized support
  • Familiarity with delivering Life Skills and modified academic content
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
  • Passion for fostering a supportive, inclusive environment

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging instruction in basic Math, Reading, Writing, and Modified Science
  • Adapt curricula to meet the unique learning needs of each student
  • Monitor student progress and maintain thorough documentation
