Special Education Teacher in Norwalk, CT

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification (as required by state guidelines)
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
• Experience working with middle school students, preferably in special education settings
• Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment and promoting student success

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and adapt curriculum for students with diverse learning needs in 7th and 8th grade
• Develop and implement IEPs in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Regularly assess and monitor student progress, maintaining accurate records
• Communicate effectively with parents, support staff, and administration regarding student performance and needs
• Foster a positive, safe classroom culture that encourages participation and growth
• Participate in meetings, professional development, and ongoing team collaboration
