A Middle School Special Education Teacher position is available in a Life Skills classroom setting. This full-time, contract role is based in Norwich, CT, with an immediate start and runs through the end of the current school year. The position focuses on providing specialized instruction to students in grades 6-8 within a self-contained Life Skills classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students' unique learning needs in a Life Skills program.
  • Develop, write, and actively monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to ensure compliance and progress toward student goals.
  • Collaborate with educational staff and families to support student development and learning outcomes.
  • Maintain detailed records of student performance and behavior.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification.
  • Experience working with middle school students, particularly in Life Skills or self-contained settings.
  • Strong knowledge of IEP creation and compliance.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
