Special Ed Teacher - Norwich, Connecticut

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for a Middle School Life Skills classroom serving grades 6-8. This contracted role starts as soon as possible and extends through the end of the school year. The ideal candidate will work within a self-contained classroom setting, providing specialized instruction to support students with diverse learning needs in a middle school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction tailored to the unique Life Skills curriculum for middle school students.
• Develop, write, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to ensure compliance with educational standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to adapt teaching methods and materials that meet student needs.
• Maintain detailed records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and staff.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages growth and independence.

Desired Qualifications:

• Certification in Special Education.
• Experience teaching within a Life Skills classroom or similar self-contained setting.
