Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience working with neuro-diverse students, preferably at the high school level
- Familiarity with self-contained classroom teaching methods and differentiated instruction
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to create an engaging, supportive, and structured learning environment
- Dedication to promoting a culture of respect, understanding, and positive behavior support
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized instruction to high school students in a self-contained classroom
- Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and families to implement IEPs and behavioral strategies
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress
- Adapt lessons and materials to meet diverse learning needs
- Support the social, emotional, and academic development of each student
- Foster a classroom community that celebrates individuality and promotes students' self-advocacy skills
