An exciting contract opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher interested in making a meaningful difference in the lives of students for the remainder of the school year. This position is located near Norwich, VT, and offers the flexibility to work part-time or full-time based on your availability. You'll work closely with a small, dedicated life skills classroom, providing direct support and tailored instruction to a group of five students.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (state-specific)
- Demonstrated experience working with students with diverse learning needs
- Ability to develop and adapt life skills curriculum for individual student strengths and goals
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with students, families, and colleagues
- Patience, flexibility, and genuine enthusiasm for supporting student growth
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction in a life skills classroom setting for five students with varied needs
- Develop, modify, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in line with student goals
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ unique learning needs
- Track student progress and provide regular updates to families and support staff
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and other educational professionals as part of a supportive team
