Step into an engaging role supporting students in a vibrant elementary school setting. This contract opportunity focuses on providing resource support for pre-kindergarten through fourth grade, working collaboratively with a team of dedicated special education teachers. The caseload is thoughtfully divided, allowing you to concentrate on one or two grade levels within the PK-4th range, ensuring students receive targeted instruction and attention.

In this position, you’ll utilize both push-in and pull-out resource models, adapting your teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of your learners. Your expertise will help foster academic and social growth, positively impacting students and their families.

Qualifications:

  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement covering PreK-5th grade (required; must be included in your application)
  • Experience teaching special education resource or co-teaching in elementary grades preferred
  • Comfort working with students ranging from PreK through 4th grade
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members, students, and families
  • Ability to create and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and adapt instruction accordingly

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality resource support to students in designated grades, using both push-in and pull-out approaches
  • Collaborate with two other special education teachers to coordinate and share caseload responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and monitor student IEPs, ensuring compliance and measurable progress
  • Partner with general education teachers to support inclusive practices within the classroom
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in IEP meetings
