Special Education Teacher - Oak Lawn, Illinois

Make a significant impact as a Special Education Teacher, supporting students’ academic and personal growth in a rewarding contract role. This opportunity begins immediately and extends through May 28, 2027, with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00am to 3:30pm (35 hours per week, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch). Two dedicated educators are needed for this position, both requiring the LBS1 endorsement.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois State Educator License with LBS1 Endorsement
• Ability to develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Experience collaborating with related service providers and multidisciplinary teams
• At least two years of recent teaching experience strongly preferred
• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
• Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students’ needs
• Create engaging lesson plans that align with students’ IEPs
• Monitor and document student progress, making adjustments as needed
• Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and staff to ensure holistic support for each student
• Participate in IEP meetings and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements
• Engage families in students' educational journeys, providing regular updates and support
