Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Maine teaching license for elementary age groups
• Certification or strong experience as a Special Education Teacher, especially in early elementary classrooms (grades K-2)
• Familiarity with SLD strategies, IEP implementation, and differentiated instruction
• Demonstrated ability to work in-person and engage with young children in educational activities
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide daily in-person instruction to a classroom of approximately 20 K-2 students
• Develop and adapt IEPs to accommodate specific learning needs
• Utilize evidence-based strategies for students with Specific Learning Disabilities
• Collaborate with general education staff, instructional aides, and school support teams
• Monitor and report student progress, adjusting teaching approaches as needed
