Special Education Teacher in Oglethorpe, GA

Make a meaningful difference supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher focusing on pre-school adaptive classrooms. This on-site contract opportunity offers approximately 20 hours per week (49% FTE), providing essential support to early learners with special needs.

You'll work closely with a dedicated team of educators and specialists, tailoring instruction to suit individual learning plans and nurturing student growth in a supportive and engaging environment.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience in preschool or early childhood settings, preferably with adaptive or self-contained programs
• Strong understanding of adaptive curriculum design and IEP implementation
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans based on student needs and IEP goals
• Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies for young learners with diverse abilities
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, speech therapists, and occupational therapists to support each student's unique learning plan
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing ongoing communication to parents and team members
