Special Education Teacher in Olathe, CO

Shape young minds and create lasting impact as a part-time special education teacher in a supportive elementary setting. This contract position, beginning in August 2026 and extending through the end of the 2026-2027 school year, focuses on serving students at the elementary level who require mild to moderate support. You’ll be instrumental in fostering an inclusive classroom environment and guiding students toward their individual goals.

Key Qualifications:

• Hold an active Colorado Special Education License, or be eligible for reciprocity.
• Previous experience working with elementary-aged students is preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of IDEA and special education compliance.
• Ability to implement, monitor, and document progress toward IEP goals.
• Skilled in collaborating across disciplines—with families, other educators, and service providers—to ensure each student’s success.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to elementary students requiring special education services, primarily in resource and/or inclusion settings.
• Implement individualized education plans (IEPs), track progress, and maintain compliance documentation.
• Actively participate in student evaluations, multidisciplinary team meetings, and ongoing case review.
• Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families to support collaborative problem-solving.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to reflect each learner’s strengths and needs.

This opening welcomes primarily onsite educators, although hybrid arrangements may be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.
