Special Education Teacher in Olathe, CO

Play a vital role in shaping the educational journey of elementary students with significant support needs as a contracted Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This full-time opportunity allows you to deliver tailored instruction, foster independence, and make meaningful progress with students experiencing moderate to severe disabilities. You’ll collaborate closely with a committed support team and create an inclusive learning environment that truly makes a difference.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Colorado Special Education License, or eligibility through reciprocity
• Experience supporting students with moderate to severe disabilities strongly preferred
• Proficiency in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Demonstrated skill with behavior intervention strategies and individualized support methods
• Excellent classroom management abilities
• Prior experience overseeing paraprofessional staff is a plus
• Strong collaboration skills, working effectively with families, therapists, administrators, and support staff

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the strengths and needs of each student
• Develop and maintain compliant IEPs aligned with student goals
• Implement evidence-based behavioral interventions and individualized supports
• Monitor, assess, and document student progress to ensure ongoing growth
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including IEP planning
• Provide guidance and supervision for paraprofessionals supporting students
• Maintain accurate records and ensure adherence to district, state, and federal requirements
