Step into a pivotal role supporting K–12 students as a Special Education Teacher in a full-time contract position for the 2026–2027 school year. This opportunity provides the chance to serve students with mild to moderate disabilities at a dedicated academy, fostering growth and independence through tailored educational experiences. The assignment begins August 17, 2026, and concludes May 27, 2027, aligning with the school calendar.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current Colorado Special Education License (Mild/Moderate) or eligibility via reciprocity
  • Demonstrated experience with students who have mild to moderate disabilities (preferred)
  • Proficiency in developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Strong understanding of special education compliance, case management, and IDEA/Colorado regulations
  • Experience with PBIS, MTSS, Behavior Intervention Plans, and Functional Behavior Assessments advantageous
  • Effective communication, collaboration, organization, and classroom management skills
  • Familiarity with alternative education settings or therapeutic environments is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction in both academic and social-emotional areas within a mild/moderate caseload (details to be confirmed)
  • Develop and manage IEPs and compliance documentation
  • Customize instruction, accommodations, and behavioral supports to meet a range of student needs
  • Collaborate with instructional staff, service providers, administrators, and student families
  • Participate fully in evaluations, eligibility meetings, IEP sessions, and multidisciplinary team activities
  • Uphold all district and legal requirements to provide the highest quality support
