Special Education Teacher in Olathe, KS

You’ll work full-time with a manageable caseload of 8 students, providing targeted instruction and personalized support in a collaborative environment. Your commitment will directly impact young lives by fostering independence and achievement in a nurturing classroom.

Required Qualifications:

• Active Kansas Low Incidence Special Education License
• Experience teaching in an elementary school or comparable setting
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach when supporting diverse learners
• Skilled at employing individualized strategies and collaborating with paraprofessionals and related services staff
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instructional content to students in the LIFT Program
• Develop and implement IEPs in partnership with families and interdisciplinary team
• Track student progress and adjust plans as needed
• Foster a positive, structured classroom that prioritizes both academic and social success
• Engage actively in school meetings, professional development, and collaborative planning sessions
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and team members regarding student growth and challenges
