Grades K - 5 Grades 6 - 8 Special Education Teacher in Olathe, KS

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active state teaching certification in Special Education required
• Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs within a school setting
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
• Proficiency in classroom management and social-emotional learning techniques

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized education programs for students
• Deliver tailored lessons in partnership with general education teachers
• Provide direct support through small group or one-on-one instruction
• Employ a variety of evidence-based teaching methods to engage learners
• Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and communicate with parent teams
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary teams as needed
• Adhere to school policies and comply with state and federal special education legislation
