Special Education Teacher in Olpe, KS

You’ll provide tailored instruction, fostering an inclusive classroom environment that meets a wide variety of learning needs, in a role where every day brings both challenge and reward.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid Kansas Special Education teaching license
• Background in developing and implementing IEPs
• Experience collaborating with diverse teams, including general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
• Strong communication skills for engaging with students, families, and colleagues
• Commitment to positive classroom management and differentiated instruction

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to students with exceptionalities in accordance with their IEPs
• Adapt curriculum and use assessment data to modify teaching strategies
• Maintain progress records, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
• Consult and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in IEP meetings
• Encourage student independence, inclusion, and self-advocacy
• Establish a supportive classroom culture that promotes respect and learning for all
