Bring your expertise in behavior analysis and your compassionate approach to education to help students thrive in a dynamic K-12 school setting. This opportunity is ideal for skilled professionals dedicated to positively impacting students with behavioral and social-emotional needs. You'll play a pivotal role as an itinerant Behavioral Specialist, providing support across multiple districts during the academic year from August through May.

Your experience and background should include:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Kansas State Teaching License with appropriate endorsement
  • Preferably, additional licensure in school psychology, social work, or school counseling
  • Professional background as a school-based behavior specialist, BCBA, or similar
  • Experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
  • Proficiency with evidence-based behavioral interventions and data-driven decision-making
  • Strong collaborative skills for working alongside educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to coach and train school staff, and assist with crisis interventions
  • Effective communication, adaptability, and problem-solving abilities

Key responsibilities:

  • Travel between school districts to support students and staff
  • Conduct FBAs and create individualized BIPs tailored to student needs
  • Guide the implementation of behavioral interventions and progress monitoring
  • Deliver coaching and ongoing support for teachers and paraprofessionals
  • Facilitate collaboration among school teams, families, and external resources
  • Lead and participate in crisis intervention as needed
  • Promote inclusion and student success through a compassionate, research-based approach
