Special Education Teacher in Olympia, WA

Qualifications and Experience Sought:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification for Washington State
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
• Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Strong understanding of a variety of disabilities and learning differences
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, families, and colleagues
• Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction to accommodate unique student needs
• Previous experience in a school setting preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, review, and implement IEPs aligned with state regulations and student goals
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to foster an inclusive classroom environment
• Use differentiated instruction and innovative strategies to support learning and behavior management
• Maintain ongoing communication with parents and guardians regarding progress and interventions
• Prepare and organize materials, assessments, and progress reports
• Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to teamwork focused on student success
