Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for Washington State
- Previous experience in a classroom or school-based setting preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Flexible and adaptable, able to adjust to diverse learning needs
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related field
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and adapt lesson plans to meet individualized education program (IEP) goals
- Provide instruction and support to students with special needs in various instructional settings
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other school professionals to support student integration and achievement
- Monitor and document student progress, making adjustments as necessary
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom culture
- Communicate proactively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and concerns
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives
