Special Education Teacher in Orange Park, FL

This contract opportunity runs from early August 2026 through the end of May 2027 and offers a consistent schedule of 35 hours per week (7 hours per day) within one campus in the northwest region of the district. As a leader in the classroom, you’ll work directly with elementary students across a range of learning levels and exceptionalities, providing high-quality instruction and individualized support that empowers every learner.

Qualifications:

• Active Florida ESE (Exceptional Student Education) certification
• General Education certification (K-6 or PK-3)
• Proven experience in self-contained special education settings
• Previous fingerprint clearance for Florida school districts or willingness to complete the process via the AHCA Clearinghouse
• Prepared to participate in a virtual prescreen interview for role suitability

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans to address a spectrum of learning needs
• Manage a self-contained ESE classroom, fostering an inclusive, positive, and safe environment
• Track, assess, and document student progress, adapting strategies as needed
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Comply with district guidelines and credentialing requirements, including timely completion of fingerprinting and JLA badge application
