Make an immediate impact in the classroom by guiding students with exceptionalities as a Self-Contained ESE Teacher for the upcoming school year. This contract role offers an opportunity to work on-site at a single school, primarily serving elementary-aged students in a specialized classroom with diverse learning needs. With support from the school district, you’ll have the chance to provide individualized instruction and foster a nurturing, inclusive learning environment.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Florida ESE certification
- K-6 or PK-3 General Education certification
- Demonstrated experience in self-contained special education settings
- Strong classroom management and instructional differentiation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other educators, families, and support staff
- Commitment to accommodating diverse student needs
- Must complete state-mandated background and fingerprinting requirements (prior prints may be transferable; forms required for verification)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a self-contained classroom for students with varying learning levels and exceptionalities
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans and IEP goals tailored to each student
- Track and document student progress, maintaining up-to-date records
- Foster a positive, supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages academic and social-emotional growth
- Work closely with paraprofessionals, therapists, and administration for holistic student support
- Communicate consistently with parents and guardians regarding student developments
This position is on-site only, running from August 3, 2026, through May 28, 2027, with a 35-hour workweek (7 hours per day).
