Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher leading a self-contained ESE classroom for the upcoming school year. This contract position begins in early August and runs through late May, with a 35-hour workweek on-site in a supportive elementary school environment. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with a diverse student population, supporting children with a range of exceptionalities and learning needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Florida ESE certification required
- Current K-6 or PK-3 General Education certification required
- Prior experience working in a self-contained classroom setting
- Ability to lead and manage a classroom with students at varying academic and developmental levels
- Must successfully complete mandated fingerprinting (completion or verification of existing prints through the AHCA Clearinghouse) prior to the start date
- Preparedness for a prescreen virtual interview and internal eligibility review
Primary Responsibilities:
- Teach and mentor students in a self-contained ESE classroom, adapting lessons to meet individualized education plans
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth and development
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and administrators to tailor support for each student
- Track and report on student progress, maintaining accurate records and communication with families
- Comply with district procedures and credentialing requirements, including timely completion of background checks and badges
This role is based on-site only, within one school facility—primarily at the elementary level, though assignment preferences may be considered. You'll have the satisfaction of helping students reach their potential daily in an engaging, purpose-driven school setting.
