Special Education Teacher | Orange Park, Florida

Step into an impactful role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a self-contained ESE classroom within a vibrant district in Northwest Jacksonville, FL. The assignment is set to begin as soon as possible and runs through May 2027, with a consistent schedule of 35 hours per week (7 hours each day) at a single school. While most openings are in elementary settings, there is flexibility to align with your teaching preferences where possible.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• Valid Florida ESE certification AND Florida K-6 or PK-3 General Education certification required
• Proven experience working in a self-contained ESE classroom setting
• Strong ability to adapt instructional methods to meet the unique needs of students with varying learning levels and exceptionalities
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to connect with students, families, and fellow educators

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a self-contained ESE classroom, providing tailored instruction to students with exceptionalities
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Create supportive learning experiences that promote academic, social, and emotional growth
• Monitor student progress, adjusting strategies and supports as necessary
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including specialists and administrators

Additional Information:

• On-site position only; teletherapy is not available
• Timely credentialing is critical, including fingerprints (through the AHCA Clearinghouse if applicable) and a JLA badge
